Yes! The correct name is "Sea Star" for the little critter that we all grew up calling "Starfish". They do not have gills so they can not be a fish. You may wish to file this under too much information but I have been corrected so many times that I finally gave in and started calling them SEA STARS. Whatever you decide to call them I hope you agree that they are wonderful little creatures. They come in so many different sizes, colors and shapes. Some with only a few legs and a few with over fifty. Over the years I have made maybe fifteen different styles. Some were popular and some were not. A few years ago I started creating a selection of them with these very small little bumps all over them. These have become by far my most popular sea stars. I would like you try and imagine what it takes to make dozens and dozens of these tiny little wax balls (all the same size) and then try and figure out how to place them in perfect order all over a wax carving of a Sea Star. I can’t believe I ever tried this and that I have now created around a dozen different designs using this procedure. This Five Diamond Sea Star has got to be one of my all time favorites. The 5 two point diamonds are set between portions of the design that are high polished. I love to watch those diamonds sparkle when they are out in the sunlight. The bail that I use on this design is a little larger and heavier than the ones I most often use. The heavier bail just seems to go with this design and it should be large enough to handle whatever chain you want to wear it on.
