The name Shadow Box refers to the type of frame I have created for this piece. Please take another look at the pictures and you will see that I have made a design that has both a foreground and a background. So much of the jewelry you see these days is so flat that I decided that I wanted to create some pieces that had a third dimension to them. It took a while to come up with something that I was happy with but I believe I have made something that is special. So far I have made six of these different designs and the response has been very good. I have some friends up in the Seattle area and when they saw the shadow box with palm trees in them they ask for something that looked more like where they liked to go sailing. I designed this piece with them in mind and named it Pine Tree & Sailboat. I now stand corrected and understand that this is not a pine tree but rather a fur tree. I have got to say that for a guy like me that has always lived in warmer climates it looks to me like a Christmas tree. Whatever you want to call it I hope you will enjoy all the detail I put into creating it. The Tree and land are in the foreground and the sailboat and water are in the background giving the piece a great deal of depth. The loops for your chain are large enough to take up to a 3mm chain. I like to recommend the small box chains like the ones in the photograph. They hold up pretty well and sparkle from just about angle.
