Each piece of jewelry on this web site was designed exclusively for our company by me, Evan LLoyd, often with the collaborative help of one of my in-house artists. Each piece of jewelry is meticulously hand-finished in my design studio.

I am always creating new designs, and as time permits, I have added them to my website. If there is a particular animal or design that you cannot find on this site, please feel free to contact me. Perhaps I have already created one and just haven't gotten it on my site yet, or maybe you can talk me into adding your request to my to-do list!

The History of Lloyd’s Limited

I began my company in 1975 with a great love of nature and a desire to create only the very best marine life and wildlife jewelry. At the time, I was living on the big Island of Hawaii and doing a great deal of diving with the local fisherman. I found that I had a real need to share the beauty I was seeing in the water with the rest of the world. When I started designing my collection, I named my business "Mauna Loa Jewelers." I was living on the slopes of Mauna Loa, a sometimes-active volcano in Hawaii, and the name just seemed right.

If I am not in the water, sailing on it, eating or sleeping you can probably find me at one of my benches being creative. Somedays that is easier than others.

It was several years before I started to offer my collection outside of the state of Hawaii. However, when I started to become better known, I realized that people off the island were having a hard time pronouncing and remembering my company name. I solved this by renaming it first to "Evan Lloyd Designs" and then simply "Lloyds Limited."

After living nearly thirty years in Hawaii, I moved to Florida. I now live in a small coastal town on the Atlantic coast where I have continued to design and make my jewelry. My company consists of a select group of extremely well trained and creative jewelers who all share my love for the things of nature.

When I started, there were very few jewelers creating marine life and wildlife pieces. While they seem abundant today, most of them seem to show very little understanding or love of the animals they are trying to depict. I feel that when you select a piece of jewelry for yourself or as a gift, it should be the very best since it will be something you will cherish with pride for years.

With over 30 years of experience creating marine and wildlife designs, it is no surprise to me that my ever-growing collection is still considered the finest. My rule is not to ever sell something that I am not totally proud of. From the first ever gold whale tails to my latest turtles, seahorses and cast glass & gold designs, I have always prided myself in offering the most highly detailed and finely finished pieces of jewelry available. After you inspect the fine artistry of my designs, I am certain you will agree that they are outstanding.

When you get to hold one of my designs in your hand, you will know what I mean when I say that pictures just can't capture the true dynamics of these pieces. Because this is not a retail store where you could see my work in person and hold it in your hand before making a purchase I offer you a one-week inspection period. If for any reason the piece of jewelry you have ordered does not measure up to your expectations, simply return it to me for a full refund of the purchase price.
