Over the years I have been most fortunate to see, in the wild, all of the whales shown here. Spending time with whale researchers in both the Atlantic and the Pacific has afforded me the opportunity to get up close and personal with these great creatures.

Relief Humpback:The reason these are called "relief" humpbacks is because they are not a solid design. They are carved out on the back leaving about 60% of the design. I could have called them "half humpbacks," but somehow that just didn't sound right. The backsides of these pieces are polished to a high luster.

Orca Whales:I have been designing Orcas for many years and still enjoy working on every one we make. They are such a magnificent creature that, even though they have been saddled with the "killer whale" label, they still have captured many of our hearts.

The first two whales are solid pieces and the rest are done in relief. When these relief pieces are being worn, it is very hard to tell that they are not solid. Don't forget to have a look at my Orca ring. It is great and lies very comfortably on your finger.
